Youth and Heritage Conservation Tour

As part of its commitment to supporting the 2025 Year of Ecotourism campaign, youth empowerment, cultural education, and heritage preservation One Love Salone Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs supported twenty-three vibrant youths and a renowned seasoned musician (Lady Felicia) to embarked on an inspiring Youth and Heritage Conservation Tour to Bunce Island, one of Sierra Leone’s most important historical sites.

Throughout the tour, the participants explored the historic ruins of the island, learned about its deep connection to the Trans-Atlantic slave trade, and reflected on the stories that shaped generations.

Through the guided tour led by Francis Momoh Research and Development Lead of the Monument and Relics Commission , the youths gained powerful insights into Sierra Leone’s past and the importance of protecting our national heritage.

Beyond the learning, the day was filled with laughter, team bonding, and unforgettable moments.

The youths enjoyed fun interactions, story telling, shared meals, and captured beautiful memories against the backdrop of Bunce Island’s serene landscape.

This initiative reinforces the One Love Salone Foundation’s dedication to using culture, and education to uplift young people and strengthen community impact.

Together, we are preserving history, empowering the next generation, and celebrating Sierra Leone’s rich cultural identity.
